"Ember & Aftermath: Stories of Resilience" proposes a short documentary exploring the impact of recent wildfires on Paradise, Chico, and Oroville, California. This film will focus on capturing the personal narratives of residents, firefighters, and community leaders, highlighting their experiences of loss, resilience, and the ongoing recovery. It will also examine the environmental and societal factors contributing to these devastating fires, aiming to raise awareness and promote dialogue about wildfire prevention and preparedness.

The project will utilize in-depth interviews, cinematic B-roll, and archival footage to create a compelling and informative narrative. Filming will take place in the affected areas, with a focus on capturing the emotional and psychological toll of the fires, as well as the remarkable community spirit that has emerged. The film will be approximately 20-30 minutes in length, targeting a general audience, community organizations, and policymakers.

"Ember & Aftermath" will serve as a senior capstone project, showcasing filmmaking skills while contributing to a deeper understanding of wildfire impacts. The film aims to document the human cost of these disasters and the ongoing struggle to rebuild, ultimately fostering empathy and encouraging conversations about building more resilient communities in the face of increasing wildfire threats.
